Welcome to the Pamlico Sail & Power Squadron (PSPS), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing superior boating education, civic service and fellowship.  PSPS is a unit in District 27 of the United States Power Squadron® (USPS), America's largest non-profit recreational boating organization supporting 33 Districts, 450 Squadrons and over 35,000 members in their mission and honored on numerous occasions for civic contributions.  PSPS encompasses the Pamlico River and Pamlico Sound areas and is headquartered in Washington NC.  Over 140 members from Beaufort and Pitt counties share an appreciation for boating and range from new boaters to those with a Captain's License.

PSPS Education Classroom USPS certified instructors conduct a number of public seminars and member advanced courses on a wide array of topics. The comprehensive public introductory boating class, America’s Boating Course, meets the requirements of the new North Carolina State Law effective May 1, 2010.

The squadron also participates in local community events providing boating education information for both children and adults.

Vessel Safety Check
Promoting boating safety qualified members conduct free Vessel Safety Checks for more than 150 boats annually.   Members are involved in the Cooperative Charting Project, a USPS and NOAA joint effort to maintain governmental waterway chart accuracy. Volunteers are involved in Maritime Education Days, assist with the annual Washington Christmas Flotilla, and is proud to support Toys for Tots. Members also help collect for The Salvation Army.
New Bern Mumfest Cruise
The Cruise Committee organizes a number of boating activities throughout the year. Weekend and longer cruise destinations include Belhaven, Ocracoke, New Bern, Oriental, Beaufort, and Morehead City. Popular day outings include Bath, the Washington Waterfront and the Tar River. Additionally, members frequently cruise north to the Chesapeake, south to Beaufort and points beyond. Bi-monthly member-ship meetings include dinner and guest speaker. Other gatherings ngs at local restaurants are scheduled on a regular basis. See the PSPS Calendar for more information.
