America’s Boating Club of the Pamlico (ABC-Pamlico) membership is made up of a wide range of individuals. Some are new boaters, experienced boaters and others may have retired their vessel but have knowledge and guidance to share. Other members simply enjoy the aspects of our beautiful Coastal North Carolina waterways. The social andd Civic opportunities of ABC-Pamlico and local boating communities interests them.

billdoarsmGeneral Membership Dinner Meetings are typically held every other month. The meetings begin with a casual half hour cocktail period, followed by dinner and a guest speaker along with squadron announcements. Our speakers cover a wide range of topics. Squadron meeting announcements can range from the reminders of the next Educational Course or Seminar to upcoming social or boating activities.claiborne2012sm

Past speakers have included NOAA Corps relating to Hydrographic Survey Vessels; the Pamlico-Tar Riverkeeper®; Maritime Law; NC Maritime Museum on Past & Modern Piracy; Salvage & Towing; NC Refuge Wildlife filming; Pacific Seacraft Yachts, The Lost Colony of 1587, Queen Ann Revenge Recovery,  ECU program on Marine Archeology and U S Coast Guard Station-Hobucken. A number of these topics are further enjoyed with a visit to the facilities.  Also included are various local agency speakers such as Beaufort County Emergency Management and Washington Harbor District Alliance providing updates to community projects.

Education, Safety and Civic Service is very important to ABC-Pamlico. Outstanding efforts are recognized and awards for achievement in these areas are presented to our members during the General Membership Dinner Meetings.

noaameetingsmCasual outings are planned just for the fun of it. We get together for pizza, visit a local oyster bar, holiday parties or dinner out when the agenda is merely to enjoy our Squadron family.

Change of Watch Dinner Meeting is a more formal affair where our casual dress is stepped up a notch. This function is the installation of new officers and committee chairs for that year. Outstanding efforts are recognized and awards for achievement in various areas are presented to members for their contribution to our mission.

All events provide a great opportunity to get together with other boat lovers and enjoy a day or an evening of camaraderie.  Attendance is not required by members, but, is surely appreciated!  Be sure to visit our Facebook Group for more information and events. Also check the ABC-Pamlico Calendar for the dates planned during 2024.
