Welcome to America's Boating Club of the Pamlico (ABC-Pamlico), a unit in District 27 of the United States Power Squadron®, known as America's Boating Club® the largest non-profit recreational boating organization supporting 300 Squadrons and over 20,000 members. ABC-Pamlico encompasses the Pamlico River and Pamlico Sound areas (see below) and is headquartered in Washington NC.  Over 100 members from Beaufort and Pitt counties share an appreciation of recretional boating. America's Boating Club® is for all types of boaters, the novice or experienced, coastal and inland waterways cruisers.
 

hpclassroomsmOur instructors conduct a number of public seminars and advanced courses on a wide array of topics making boating safer and more enjoyable. The comprehensive public introductory boating class, America’s Boating Course, meets the certification requirements of the North Carolina State Law

Our squadron also participates in local civic community events providing boating education information for both children and adults. Volunteers are involved in promoting National Safe Boating Week and proud to support Toys for Tots collection and the Salvation Army Bell Ringing effort. United States Power Squadron® has been honored by three US Presidents for its civic contributions.

hpcivicsm 001Promoting boating safety is important to ABC-Pamlico. Our qualified members conduct free Vessel Safety Checks for local recretional boaters annually. Members are involved in the Cooperative Charting Project, a USPS and NOAA joint effort to maintain governmental waterway chart accuracy. hpcruisesm 002The Cruise Committee organizes a number of boating activities throughout the year. Weekend and longer cruise destinations include Belhaven, Ocracoke, New Bern, Oriental, Beaufort, and Morehead City. Popular day outings include Bath, the Washington Waterfront and the Tar River. Additionally, members frequently cruise north to the Chesapeake, south to Beaufort and points beyond.

Our bi-monthly membership meetings include dinner and guest speakers. Other gatherings at local restaurants are scheduled on a regular basis. See the Calendar for more information.
